WORDS FROM THE DUOS. They know very well what all the other competitors think of them. Yes, Charlotte and Hugo (Skipper Macif) are the big favorites in this Transat Paprec. Charlotte knows the path to victory, having won with Loïs Berrehar two years ago. Hugo, second in the last Solitaire du Figaro, was recently named the new skipper of Macif. Can she retain her title? Will he win his second transatlantic race, three years after his success in the Mini-Transat? Here are some answers.

Charlotte, how do you win the Transat Paprec?
Charlotte: That's a good question! There are several ingredients: you need good preparation, good training, a good partner, a good, well-prepared boat, a good team... And then, you have to enjoy yourself on the water and leave nothing to the others. Hugo and I ticked the most boxes!
"We shared an apartment to work on cohesion."
Who has the most pressure between the two of you, Hugo?
Hugo : I think it's the same (laughs)! I've just arrived, so I have to show that I'm here. And it's Charlotte's last year, so it's also important for her. So we're both equal! Despite the pressure, we want to go for it, to fight on the water, and to give it our all... In any case, that's what we're here for!
How did your preparation go?
Hugo : We did several solo training courses and trained a lot in Port-la-Forêt with the Pôle Finistère Course au large. We also sailed between training courses and shared accommodation to work on teamwork.
Charlotte : We'll see if everything we've put in place will work. We spent a very studious winter at the Pôle with our coaches. We tried to list all the parameters that can help us perform, and we worked on them: speed, complementarity on board, but also the bond between us. It's important to know how we each function and how we function together.
Who are the race favorites?
Charlotte : It's us! (laughs)
Hugo : I didn't dare say it! I think we have that status, yes. The race scenario will depend on the weather. There are several waypoints that shouldn't be overlooked. And I think that after La Palma, we'll already have a glimpse of what's going to happen.
